DVD -R vs DVD +R

Tried copying a dvd with no success. I'm copying from a DVD+RW to a DVD+R dvd. I get an incompatibility problem. I think it's looking for a DVD-R instead... This DVD Writer is on a dell notebook. Any ideas? What's a difference DVD-R & DVD+R?

Your DVD-RW might be in UDF format, rip the RW to harddrive first (use DVD Decrypter), if you cannot rip it, just copy. Now burn from harddrive.

DVD+R is a dvd disc that allows multiple layers for one disc where as dvd-r only allows one layer. They will not compete to become the de Facto standard, because they are both here to stay. Multi layer DVD+R can allow extra capacity per disc than DVD-R hence its high cost

What's the difference between DVD+R single layer and DVD-R single layer then?

I will be talking K@K now if i said to you that there is a difference with + and- -------->its all in the ntsc coding that makes the difference.

I think you were right cause i can write to DVD+R from PC files with no probs, except if i copy from the DVD+RW... Interesting....
