Hey Everybody

I have a Samsung DVD writer, and the tray closes too quickly, it literally ejects, and then goes back in. Does anybody know if there is registry edit or something to delay this?

Faulty drive, not windows doing that, Use eject from windows explorer and see if it does the same thing.

no, it is a sign of hardware wear and tear. How old is the drive.

Just grab it as it comes out... it won't hurt the drive.... much.

The eject dealy is not controlled by the operating system.

Wax on, wax off. Lets try and improve your reaction times :D

Faulty drive.

Could be damaged cable...

Try replacing the IDE or SATA cable...

Ah a warranty claim, kept your receipt I hope ?

and all the packaging it came in.

channel Bruce Lee and you should be fine... Another trick is to take out the drive unscrew the screws and use a knife to randomly poke, jiggle and break gears that should solve it moving to quickly cause it will hopefully stop moving all together.

Samsung drives does that. I had and old Samsung 24x CD-RW drive that did the same thing way back when.
