dvd writer not displaying on my computer

hi guys i have a problem,when i open "my computer",i cant see my 2 dvd rws,i went to device manager and i can see it there but wen i open up properties i see it says that the drivers etc are not loaded and that a recent hardware or software change could have caused that.i tried automatically downlaoding the drivers but it didnt load.its says my drivers are already loaded.i also uninstalled and reinstalled but it says drivers not loaded sucsessfully.by da way my dvd rw is samsung tru direct
please help with any advice

Did you install CloneDVD or any Slysoft software recently if so then that is your problem. I had the exact same problem I could see the drives before but after I installed CloneDVD then I couldn't I didn't realise my error and I followed the following instructions http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982116 for 10 hours before I found the error.

Not at my PC right now and didn't follow links in this thread, but I remember something about filters that I had to remove from the registry.
