I've got a PC which used to be connected to a DVI screen. Now I want to set it up on monitor with VGA. Is there anyway to make it use the internal card - or do I need to plug it into a DVI monitor and make it use VGA there?

Yea but I wanna get data off it now ... tonight :P

I have a VGA monitor lying around that I wanna use tonight

Hey Dolby,
If the motherboard has an onboard VGA as well as an AGP/PCIe graphics card, then you should be able to connect it to the internal (onboard) VGA - you would however need to change the graphics settings in the BIOS in order for it to output from the onboard card.

Can't you plug it into the DVI monitor?

Yea but it's such a mission ;)

I was hoping I could just press something that toggled ... oh well! I'll just connect to the DVI.

Thanks!

Does your DVI monitor have dual input - i.e. a DVI and VGA input? That way you could plug in two PC's and run one off DVI and the other off VGA...
Selection of each PC would then be made from the monitor control panel (depending on your model)
