DVR (Digital Video Recorder)

I loved my LG DVR (it was a HDD recorder + DVD player all in one). Got it 5 years ago and have been recording TV from a standard DSTV decoder ever since. Problem is my beloved LG DVR is now retired, and I cannot get a replacement anywhere.

Browsing through the forums, it seems that the DSTV PVR has killed the market for personal DVRs, but I am not keen on upgrading and paying a premium every month for recording TV.

Does anyone know of any 3rd party DVRs available in SA?

Also had an LG DVD Recorder biggest load of rubbish I have ever owned. Repair agents in Capetown are a waste of time. Managed to locate a Panasonic DVD recorder with hard drive from Audio Vision at the Waterfront. Great service and love the Panasonic. Try them they may still be able to get you one
