Hi guys,

Got a Raysharp RSECO-9016H H264 16 channel DVR, i want to link it to my current network and enable remote view on it could someone maybe guide me in the right direction?

Ok so I have a kguard system at home that has an app you can use to view cameras when not at home.

What I first did was give my DVR a static IP
Then I forwarded ports for that IP on my Router.
I then created a free account with No IP to get a DNS name because I did not have a static IP for my house.
Then just inserted all the info into the Kguard App and now I can view my cameras from anywhere.
The No-IP also lets you install an application that will update the site when your DHCP IP changes, this ensures your cameras are always accessible.

Kind Regards

Let me just put it out there that you do NOT want to just forward a port to the internet, and rely on the authentication performed by the DVR to keep your stuff private/safe.

So many DVR systems have been shown to be backdoored, compromised, vulnerable in various ways, etc, that I would only ever put something like that behind some strong authentication, such as a VPN or SSH tunnel.
