Good news about South African water and sewage control systems following global hack

The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) has told MyBroadband that it does not use the programmable controllers exploited in a recent attack on a United States water facility.

This comes after the Shadowserver Foundation revealed that South Africa was among the countries most impacted by a recent attack on Unitronics programmable logic controllers (PLCs).

Is ok, most of the stuff from DWS will be broken already so its not like the hackers can do anything worse than what DWS have managed to do on their own.

Chances are they asked themselves: "What is a programmable logic controller", before realising that all their systems are still controlled manually.
And even if they are remotely controlled no point in sabotaging or turning off a pump station because the pump station has not been working for months already anyway.

Tell us that the water and sewerage is being processed ,
and not that we were not hacked.
