Firstly, I don't work or am associated with any of the mentioned companies. I have been looking for a local solution to DynDNS, so that I could host a server over a ADSL line, using a Local Only account. Obviously the dynamic IP is no help, and unfortunately DynDNS only works on our over priced international ADSL accounts. So after many hours of searching, scouring forums, and asking for help, I have found 3 possible solutions, depending on your needs.

I don't use Linux at the moment, so have not tried it.
For both Linux and Windoze: http://activedns.co.za/
Have not tried it yet, someone I know has started using it, so far so good.
For those who are not fussy about their ISP: http://www.axxess.co.za/local.php
Axxess offers a DNS / Port Lock service which works reasonably well. Only problem I have are sporadic frequent disconnects on a pre-paid local only account. It must be said that it comes and goes, and is the exception and not the norm. Irritating, but workable.
