Dynamic Island in 2025 and beyond

Dynamic Island & Live Activities

To this day I think this is one of the better features Apple has brought to the industry in recent times along with Live Activities.

The fact that I can keep an eye on “important” things like the Soweto Derby (Up The Bucs!!! ) or how far my Uber (or even UberEats order) are, or timers etc… No matter what other app I am in really is one of those nice things I appreciate about it.
In the case of Live Activities, having my Always On Display and Lock Screen show progress is great.

I’ll be honest I don’t think much about it. It’s an intuitive bit of design that just fades into the background, which is exactly what all good UI design should do.

100% agreed!

It’s only when it pops up I am like “oh, by the way this is pretty awesome!”
Today I simply Googled the live score and Google has that option to Pin the score and voila, it’s now sitting on the Island and Live Activities, and I simply look at the phone and now and again to see what’s the latest without picking it up or while I do other things on the phone.

I mostly find it useful for Uber Eats and Timers in general as they stay in view and top of mind.

Live Activities is actually not linked to Dynamic Island and you get it on phones without it as well.

Oh wow, I didn’t know that, in my mind Dynamic Island and Live Activities were linked, lol!

I am happy to see more and more apps take advantage of both, the fact that they are not linked and yet work so smoothly between each other is brilliant.
I hope Apple Intelligence and Siri get to this level of integration.

While I’m sure it’s more useful on screens with always on, it’s pretty nice to have at a glance even without.
