Hey, last night I purchased a deleted/fraudulently listed item through ebay.co.uk

I get a mail later saying the item has been removed. I try to contact the seller without success.

I log a claim through their Client Resolution Center who offer to take a wait and see approach.

Anybody had similar experiences with any success?

BTW. paid through paypal.

There shouldn't be a problem. It will take a while (two weeks or a month; can't remember), but you will get your money back.

Ya been there done that, just follow the channels, be patient and they will refund you your money.

I have purchased a number of items during the past year on eBay.co.uk for delivery to a London address. I make regular visits to the UK and USA and bring these items back to Durban with me.

In one auction, I ‘won’, (hate that term!), the electronic item I bid on at a bargain price, only to have the seller, (with a 100% rating), refuse to post it to me. Excuses ranged from him not receiving PayPal payment, which he had, to not being able to contact me. Finally I appealed to eBay for help, and they simply refunded my payment. No real attempt was made to obtain the item for me, so I lost my bargain.

This however is not my main problem with eBay. The 2 things that really frustrate me are blatant ‘shill bidding’, (where the seller bids on his own item to drive the price up), and the recently popular fraudulent scam, where sellers bid a single very high amount on their own item thereby triggering the automatic incremental bids of buyers, then retract the high bid made as a supposed ‘mistake’.

Unfortunately, and forgive my prejudices here, Pommies and fraud go together like a hand and glove.
