Anyone have one? Where did you get it? I'm looking to get a Bookeen Cybook or even a Sony PRS 700 but noone around here seems to know anything about them. I've seen the Sony PRS on WantItAll.co.za but it's ridiculously expensive. I just got back from Malaysia and they haven't even heard of them of there.

I actually use my PDA for all my e-book reading. I have an Axim x51v, great screen. I'm interested in an e-book reader but it's out of my league just now.

The 16Gb touch screen player I have supports eBooks, it's pretty comfortable on a 2.8" screen.

We've imported the Kindle as well as some of the other sony ebook readers, however with the current R/$ its quite prohibitive ;(

Not much we can do when these devices are expensive overseas ;(

I use stanza for the iPhone, I can sync books with my PC/mac using stanza too.

I got the Sony PRS-505 through expansys for R2K (refurbished). I don't know if they have any more in stock, though (or if the OP is still interested, since this thread is several months old).

I love it - it's just like reading a book, the battery life is incredible, and it's a thousand times better than reading on your cellphone! Be wary of the Kindle, though - a lot of its features are tied in to the US cellphone network, so many of them won't work here.

Ooh good price. I'm really interested in the Sony or the BeBook but they don't support the one reader I really need - Isilo. I wish there was an open source reader out there.

Have you looked at Calibre?

Yeah I have but Isilo docs are proprietary. They wouldn't convert over to calibre format. I mean a device that was open format....Kindle is good but it's pretty well locked into Amazon Books. And Sony reader is locked to Sony. I would be overjoyed to see a Windows Mobile based e-reader.

Okay, I see what you're looking for. Pity that Calibre can't convert them for you, though.

Yeah it's a shame. I would really make use of that kind of device. The Sony reader looks great. I'm in the market for a smartphone with a big and clear enough screen to do the same thing next.

The Sony PRS505, is not limited to Sony format, it will read lrf (Sony), pdf, epub. I am not sure about txt.

However with Calibre, you can convert most book formats to one of those and read almost anything

Yeah it's not that bad. but it still won't do Isilo PDB format which is what I really care about.
