Warning for people who use Uber and Bolt in South Africa

E-hailing drivers and riders in South Africa are calling for more stringent registration requirements on ride-hailing apps, as criminality is rife in the space.

Thamsanqa Gumede, a 22-year-old e-hailing driver, was killed two weeks ago in KwaDabeka, KwaZulu-Natal, and his family wants police to put more effort into fighting criminals in the industry.

The down side to living in a country where crime is lauded, and every second person is a gangster because the government is to incompetent to ensure a stable investment worthy economy.

It should have the same requirements as minibus taxis.

A close friend of mine owned several Uber cards, she built that business up from nothing.
A black woman with just a basic education, she built a solid income and managed it well.
One day, she started getting threats, most likely from taxi bosses who wanted her off their turf.
Then shortly after that they gunned her down in front of her kids.

There are savage people in this world that should just not exist anymore.
