E-mail on the go

Any advice guys?

I'm looking for a solution for e-mail on the go. Basically when the user is out of the office or doesnt have access to the laptop we're looking for something that will take over his mail delivery. Would blackberry be the first choice or something like the Nokia 900 series?

Most new cellphones have built-in email clients which can check POP and IMAP email accounts

I use my email client on my Nokia 6101 and it works fine.

Although, using the phones email client means that YOU have to check your email, not like blackberry where its pushed to you.

What exact features are you looking for?

There will most likely be a high volume of e-mails coming through so a keyboard style phone is necassary. Push to e-mail is perhaps a requirement but was hoping that there other products apart from blackberry that do this although it's not definite. Basically when the user is away from their desk they have to be able to access e-mails continually.

The i-mate K-Jam and JasJar also supports Microsoft push mail.

Even if you don't have push mail, you can still set your device up to poll every 5 minutes or so. It's not such a big overhead.

I'm probably away from my desk 90% of the day and use my PDA-Phones (K-Jam and JasJar at the moment) to check sms, mms and 4 mail boxes as well as monitor the forum.

Works very well.

There is also the www.roadsync.com client for MS Exchanges server available. Works on phones like 9300 and is an excellent solution if running Exchange server. The mailbox on the phone is always identical to that on your desktop, i.e. a mail deleted on phone, is also deleted on server/desktop at the same time. Mails sent or responded to on phone, also ends op in your sent items on server. Best solution of all, in my view. Apart from this, Roadsync uses "push" technology as with the Blackberry. Mail often appears on my 9300 before it appears on the desktop, despite Outlook (on Desktop) checking for new updates every minute.

Any idea when Vodacom will release blackberry connect for the Windows Mobile 5 devices and smartphones?, they are advertised on the Blackberry UK website
