Good evening good people.

I am sure I will get help from you. All along I have been using 8ta 3G dongle for sending and receiving my emails without any problems, recently I opted to take the telkom uncapped ADSL internet but not the problem is that my e-mails are no longer going, I have tried to change my outgoing (SMTP) settings to smtp.dsl.telkomsa.net as someone suggested but to no avail. People from Mweb as well as Telkom are sending me from pillar to post blaming each other for the ordeal. I have tried relay.mweb.co.za, smtp.saix.net, smtp.telkomsa.net etc but everything seems to be failing.

Anyone who would be so kind to provide me with legit settings/ or solution in this regard, including the port numbers and everything

Thanking you in advance.
:)

Welcome to the forums.

Just few questions:
You had an ISP email?
Authentication Enabled?
Whats your email domain? like @gmail.com or @hotmail.com or ?

and my Authentication is is enabled (checked)

That might be your problem.

You shouldn't be authenticating if using an ISP's SMTP server. The fact that you are on their network is authentication enough.

None of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your server

Ok let me quickly undo that and see if that will help

After un-doing it it gives error message 554 5.7.1

is the username/computername "user", by any chance?

If it is change it, PERMITTING you do not have pastel installed on the PC.

I have changed it, still getting the same 554 5.7.1 error message

Something which might help, how do I link my @mydomain.co.za emails with gmail account so that I would be able use gmail settings for my outgoing mails. I once heard a rumour that it works

log into gmail
add your accounts to gmail

set your gmail as your email on your PC

BUT
all your email will be sent using your gmail address

I am posting on my phone...

so forgive me if this was asked before...

your domain is called X

let's say your domain is www dot adoe dot co dot za
(dot used intentionally.

that means your incoming mail is either pop3.adoe dot ....or mail.adoe dot....

let's say your email is info@adoe dot co dot za

have you tried:

email name: not john, adoe enterprises or any such

email name: info@adoe dot co dot za
email itself: info@adoe dot co dot za
password: ******* (make sure it contains at least 1 of EACH - CAPS letter, special characters like @,#..., and a number, along with lower case letters

then pop 3 or mail.adoe dot co dot za
smtp.adoe dot co dot za

on that screen leave rest untouched (no ticks etc)

in advanced tick outgoing mail uses the same settings as incoming.
