Wife is off to Europe for 2 weeks. What is better? Turning roaming on her prepaid line or getting a Euro e-sim? Her phone support e-sims. She will be in France, England and Sweden

Any recommendations for an e-sim we can get for her?

Used Nomad quite a few times for various places:

Pricing varies by region but they do have plans for regions like Europe which covers a bunch of countries.
They also have varying validity periods and data amounts etc.

I've used Truphone in the past. Worked well enough.

Yep, +1 for Truphone and the European plan if it’s data only you want. I use that coupled with Whatsapp. I keep my Vodacom sim active for incoming calls and the occasional outgoing if needed but with Truphone sim set to mobile data there is no daily roaming costs for Vodacom.

Download the app and check out the prices. For comparison look at Airalo which in my experience is more expensive in Europe.

Thank for all the suggestions, went and signed up with Ubigi, even works locally. Will select a plan for her then hopefully fully when she lands it's all working

Quick feedback - wife landed in the UK and the Ubigi esim started working without any issues

I used a Vodafone IE eSim in Dublin a few months back.

20 euro for unlimited data (4G @ 10mbps iirc) / free weekend calls
25 euro for unlimited data (5G uncapped) / free weekend calls.

Then when roaming in to the wider EU I got a capped 30GB iirc (used this in Amsterdam with no issue).

I just buy a sim at the airport or any local supermarket. If one wants wider EU roaming one can just buy 2 or 3. Usually these things include up to 50GB free or more data.

I found eSIM doesn’t need passport or registration online. In shop experiences seemed painful in comparison.

What works best for you. For me getting a new sim and having it registered takes a few minutes at best. Maybe 1-2 people in the queue usually.

Same. They are my go to eSIM provider if they support the country I'm in.

What phone do you have and what configuration? With an iPhone, I honestly don’t know what is easier than setting up an eSim at home before you leave that activates when you land.

How many esims can I have under an account or profile with Airola or Nomad?

My family and I have 6 devices that we want esims for and dont want to register 6 profiles with 6 email accounts.

We hope to have one account with 6 esims under that profile to manage from one app or login.

Any recommendation?
