E-tag vs. accident

So SANRAL, in the case of an accident where your car is written off, wants to you to return the e-tag. Gosh! Accident is traumatic, getting car written of is even worse, and all they need is for you to ignore all else, just concentrate on retrieving some R50 worth of e-tag. :wtf:

Now, they want R150 for non-return of the e-tag. For what it's worth, I don't even have the vehicle as it was written off :mad:

This is seriously sick, really.
 
I agree with you, it is such a waste. I mean, you could have used the 50 bucks to buy yourself some beers instead

I would have laughed at them and told them to go do unpleasant things to themselves.

It was a rather big surprise to me that they truly are as crazy as you hear on the news, etc. Sometimes you want to give people the benefit of the doubt, but clearly it is misplaced with Sanral.

@Sinbad: thanks :) accident was in October already. Notification about this 'debt' came just now on email.

The whole e-toll thing doesn't even enter my head. I dont even get those letters any more either. Think im on about 6800 last time i checked.

H s**** you actually PAY the criminals to return your etag?

This is beyond unfair, just plain greediness.
What next? Ask you to grab a broom and clean up your mess?

Id never pay in a million years that money!
What do they think this is north korea?
 
Just hope someone doesn't take the tag and drives around with it on your name...
