Hi all,

My apologies if this has come up before. I recently got a E220 and everything was working hunky dory until recently when every time I plug the modem in Windows XP connects the USB modem and then within a few seconds disconnects the USB modem, connects the USB modem and then disconnects the USB modem (you get the picture). I don't have this problem with any of my other USB devices and I would appreciate any input on how I can resolve this problem asap.

Having had a brush with a bad Windoze Vista update over the weekend that after the update kept dropped my wifi connection [the update was for iPods and USB when safely removing an iPod that Windoze would corrupt the iPod], I suggest running up System Restore in Windoze heXPee and restoring your system to the most recent restore point before a Windoze Update - repeat if necessary to just before the point in time where you started experiencing problems with your E220 - if it is a Windoze Update you might do someone else a favour by first taking a screenshot of installed Windoze Updates in Ad/Remove Programs & then another screenshot after each System Restore to help establish which Windoze Update might have caused the problem with the E220.

Howzit ic!

Thanks for the welcome :-)

I took the pc back to the manufacturer and they replaced the front USB ports, which is quite scarey to think about since the pc is only a week and a half old ... I got it back and it seems to be working and they also threw in a larger hard drive. Perhaps I should have this kind of problem more often (not)?
