Please can some one help!! My problem started when I connected the E220 USB modem to my laptop(Fujitsu Siemens.OS -XP). The software on the device would not download and any other windows i tried opening just hung as long as the modem was connected to the laptop. At vodacare the assistant downloaded the software and drivers for me and my laptop is now recognising the device as a modem and allowing me to connect. The problem I am still having is that while the E220 is connected my laptop still hangs when i try open other windows and only continues as normal once the device is unplugged. The assistant at VC said he'd never seen anything like it and told me he couldn't help. I've downloaded the update for the E220 from the HUAWEI site but still no luck.

I've also got a Fujitsu-Siemens laptop + E220 modem.

The E220 modem had Huawei's own software on it and I didn't have any problems connecting to MTN 3G with it. Then I reflashed it with MTN's own software and my modem 'changed' to a MTN Fastlink modem. :)

However, now I'm using Vodacom 3G + Huawei's own latest E220 software, but after I've disconnected, I can't connect again - and it takes very long to release the connection.

I think there is a problem with Huawei's latest software - never had any problems with the 'older' MTN-branded Huawei software.

I've searched GOOGLE for a possible solution and noticed that it's not an uncommon occurance, but with Sony and Mac.
