the e620 tool no longer detects the e220 modem after the update.

Luckily I decided not to install that update - I did download it yesterday, but as usual there are no release notes provided by Huawei, so a policy of "if it aint broke don't try to fix it" usually works out best .

The download dated 28 July 2007 has a firmware update and a new dashboard called Mobile Partner. You can always reflash with previous version firmware and Dashboard. It looks completely different.
