Somewhere far far away.
This might be a k@k question, but here goes...

I decided to get a E250 with my talking points from Vodacom.
As far as I know a E250 is just a E250 paint color should not make
a difference.. or should it????

Is there something I don't know or what... Anyone I told so far wants to know
if it's the black or silver, some even go as far as to say the one is better than the other..
(Don't know if they have raccist agenda's or what)

So is there anything that make the one better than the other or not.. Before I pick up the phone from Vodashop next week...:confused::confused:

(Excuse my if there were any grammar mistake in this post)

are they not the same except for the colour, two of us in the family have silver phones and the other two have black ones and as far as i know they the same.

Most of the Silver E250 handsets are Version 1.2 hardware, very late ones are Version 1.3 hardware.

All Black E250 are Version 1.3 hardware and technically a E250D.

Not that this should concern you unless you ever want to repair your phone yourself using another E250 for donor parts! The main RF board, LCD Board & Flex Cables are not interchangeable between V1.2 (E250) and V1.3 (E250D). Both V1.2 and V1.3 hardware have seperate firmware.

To the end user you'll probably not be able to notice what version you have. You can do it, remove your SIM card and peek through to the very small bit of circuit board that is exposed (do it in a well lit area) if you see Line Green it's V1.2 and if you see dark Green/Blue it's V1.3 hardware. If I recall using *#2222# should also show your hardware version on the E250.

If you are given the choice go for the black one because it's a (very) slightly better design!

Get the black. It looks better and more like the d900.

Ok thanks guys I took the black phone. I saw both the silver and the black one in the Vodashop, the black one does look better. The paint on the silver phone will probably scratch and look cr@p after a few months.

I got it with my talking points, but will not use it myself I am giving it to my dad for Xmas, just have to load some mp3's and cool wallpapers before then, since I bought a 1GB MicroSD card as well. The phone don't look that bad, but I am a Nokia Fanboy and will be getting myself a N73 or better early next year.
