VodacomSP know whats potting?

Hi guys,
who's got the E169 modem? Is it HSUPA capable?
I ordered the Acer 1, as advertised and quoted, with E272 modem.
Now VodacomSP tells me, they don't have E272 no more, so I'm getting the K3715 modem... thats the E169 right? :(
From what I can pick up that is a HSDPA modem... not HSUPA capable.
Is that correct, or is it a full HDPA + HSUPA modem?
Kinda sux that they don't swop with the Novatel MC950... I understand the E172 is also discontinued.

hehe, yeah, I can get the Acer with built in modem, but I actually wanted the E272 loose to swop a user with E220, who needs HSUPA.
But if K3715 = E180 then thats good.... I was just wondering if I'm getting a downgrade on the modem.
Is the E180/K3715 then now Vodacom's answer to the discontinued E172 and E272?

was almost starting to wonder if THAT is why HSUPA is now free on VC... coz they can't supply HSUPA modems anymore :) :)

aaaargh, suc! now gotta wait even longer to see what modem they give instead of E272.
VodacomSP delivered now, but its not even the K3715 modem, but sommer the K3520 modem, which clearly is not HSUPA.
I cannot accept this as worthy replacement for the E272, must be at least HSUPA capable.
And the 120Gb WinXP Acer Aspire1 laptop that was supposed to come with, turned into the 8Gb flash Linux version.
Eish, how friggin difficult is it to get a 2 line order correct

Oi! Me starting to loose faith in VodacomSP, they don't seem to know wtf is goin on.
Now they contacted me, tell me umh... there is no loose modem with the laptop, it only comes with built in modem, the Acer with loose modem is the Linux version. This after telling me and quoting me on the WinXp Acer + E272 at R418 pm, and that they "don't sell the Linux version". The WinXP Acer with built in modem quoted at R439pm.
And they don't seem sure at all, which HSUPA capable modem Vodacom currently has to offer.
Its clear this whole order is a F-up.
And they want to start doing biznis for our corporate accounts! Ooo gaats!

If you have it in writing (quote) then take it up with Vodacom or their rep on the forum. I'd like to see what they do about it. This sounds very unprofessional.

I've got all on mails...
Either way, I understand there is ONLY one HSUPA modem currently available to offer on Vodacom, the Novatel MC950D, take it or leave it.
I've got an MD nagging me for a HSUPA modem, so I'll have to take it now, and see whats coming on the horison.

Must say that if I would have preferred my Acer Aspire One to be the embedded 3G model but then again I took the Linux version. Strange that they quoted you the E272 as in December when I got mine the E272 had already been discontinued (was by off chance the my SP had still a couple in stock so I could get one).

There was a post on here about Vodacom getting fresh stock since December, so that's not the reason.

hehe... can u believe it.
the VC-SP guy just contacted me.... now the Novatel has ALSO been discontinued... and now the only HSUPA modem is the K3715, which they now have (again)
eish..... this is Vodacom Direct SP... u'd think they would have some compentent people manning the services !
