Hi Everyone!

This is my first post here, but I was reading lot. I hope you can halp me (Vodafone couldn't).

Fist of all, I'm fomr Hungary (Europe). Here we have Vodafone and I can buy E272. In fact I had an E220 but I saw that I can buy the new one and I changed the device with one of my friends. My luck is that on the next day I bought the new E272 I saw that there is a 7,2MB Firm for the E220... Never mind. :)

So my problem. I connect the E272. Everything is fine. VMC Lite staring up, connecting, great. 2000/1000 average speed (speedtest.net).

In the sudden I hear the windows "usb unplug sound" and the device is gone. I "hear" that windows is finding it again but I can not connect then. I have to phisically unplug it and replug it and then everything goes welll again for a while.

I tired both cabels (the normal and the Y) and tired my PC-s usb ports: the one on the motherboard and the one from the motherboart "extension". Same thing...

Thank your for your answer in advance!

Take care,
TG (from Hungary)

PS: The modes does the same thing on my laptop too.

Welcome to myadsl... Check your antivirus, if you running Norton's make sure that the vodafone software is not blocked. Try disabling your antivirus and windows firewall for 2 minutes and see if u can connect to www.google. See if u can connect and stay connected, if so then if can only be software configuration. If not then try different modem, like your friends, and see if that works?

I'm using NOD32 for Antivirus and the built in winxp sp2 firewall, but i don't see how these two can cause the _usb device to unplug_.

When it is plugged, everything is working fine.

The modem does the same thing on my laptop too...

There were 2 e220s with me for 1-2 month and both worked fine!

Anti viruses and firewalls can cause allot of things not to work or work intermittent. See if you can disable NOD32 for a while and see if the connection stays up?

Hi!

I tried the e272 on a differenc machine (xp home, not pro, avg free, not nod, only-that-usb-connected, not a lot...) and I tired disabling nod32 too but it didn't help. :(

I als bought a USB HUB that has an adapter (to plug in electricity) because i taught that maybe my mobo didn't give enough enegy but it didn't help either.

Today I'm taking it back to Voda, for the second time. They holded my first 272 for 34 day and after that they changed it. I don't know how much do i have to wait now...

Take care,
TG from Hungary

Just got back a new E272 and this one is doing it too! I'm going insane. Anyone else with this problem?

TG

I'm using NOD32 and no problems with the VMC. I'm using an Option Nzomi card though
