Uh, I'm trying to think of anything to actually report that's new...

1. Oh, they're finally launching their movie download service tonight. Nice to have it the same day as the announcement.
2. $400 40Gb PS3 becoming 80Gb
3. God of War 3 announced.
4. A thing called MAG? Massive action game, sounds like a cross between Huxley and SOCOM.
5. Home beta delayed further.
6. LBP in October
7. DC Universe shown to a resounding "meh".
8. $15 Ratchet and Clank PSN title.
9. Oh, New PS2 bundle. And 130 games for PS2 in 2008 WTF!?!
10. PS3 "Greatest hits" - $30 back catalogue (I thought these were out already?)

Anything excite anyone? Hmm...

The fact that they showed "50 Cent Blood On the Sand" in a première title keynote says something I just don't know what.

I'll say this, if this is their "big keynote" and Jack Tretton wraps it up with this gem: "if this is what year two looks like" that we should expect even bigger things in the future", Sony fanboys need to start worrying if, 2 years in, the best Sony still has to offer is more promises.

Lets hope Sony have something amazing up their sleeve and can pull a rabbit out of a hat, because at this rate I'm never going to get free Live! Gold :(

(Oh, a far better sumary than mine: http://www.thatvideogameblog.com/2008/07/15/sonys-e3-conference-everything-that-happened/)

256 player online? sounds cool but wont run on our internet, besides from GOW3 nothing really interesting, MS is the only one who had me excited by there keynote, others were just meh.

Well, one thing is for sure. Microsoft OWNED both Sony and Nintendo at this year's E3.

Suppose it depends on your perspective.
IMO I was much more impressed with Sony's, guess this makes sense though, as you will naturally be interested in your consoles news.

Dude.

Microsoft could have shown a price increase, Barbie horse adventures and DDR.

FF13 cross platform would still have blown Sony out the water ;) The fact that PSN is crowing about cross game texting, while 360 is already at 8 member game parties with full media share is huge. Yeah, they use MiiToo's but that's really secondary. (Actually Prime time is another Ace which puts those things to better use than Nintendo ever has)

Throw in NetFlix in the US, Apple TV waves a white flag, Blockbuster video rental just sent up flares. It's huge.

pityu we cant really use it but it is definitely huge for the US. Sony is always a few steps behind it seems.

The press conference was good. New stuff coming to the system so nobody can complain. Microsoft's press conference was okish apart from the final fantasy thing.

Keeping up with the funny then? ;)

Sony's movie deal still pales in comparison to XBLVM, but at least it's a bullet point. As for the Netflix Movie, personally that's bigger than IPTV for the US market. With Netflix you pay a fixed monthly sub to rent as may movies as you want, true Video on Demand at a fixed fee! As for Prime Time - real interactive television.

The other thing that just annihilated Sony and Nintendo is Live Party. You can crow about 2.41. trophies ooo. text messages aaah. meh. 8 player cross game voice and interactive chat with support for media sharing including Movies and Music? Pwn3d. That's worth playing R40 a month for.

I'll put it to you this way. Sony and Nintendo got so pwned Microsoft cancelled their Megaton Bungie announcement they were so confident in their keynote showing.

In honesty, Im just F##cking glad I never bought a PS3, :D

The more and more I read In this Forum the worse and worse it gets.

Sony Fu#ked up big time,IMO

me too, im also glad they delayed it and gave it a ridiculous price tag, which made me get a 360, best decision ive ever made :D

Thats the problem.. this forum is highly biased towards Microsoft. I'm glad u are happy with your decision on getting the 360 but I dont feel that the PS3 is a waste.

Both video offerings from Microsoft and Sony are a waste on us here in deep dark Africa. And before the Final Fantasy Announcement no 360 user cared about the game. Having the voice chat thing is lekker but i dont think that this makes the PS3 a failure.

I'll say it yet again for all the fanbois: "Both systems are awesome!!"

Hey look man,I never said the PS3 is a heap of trash, It just looks as though things
are looking alot brighter for the 360 than the Playstation ,

PS3 is not a failure, they just have damn good competition, who are at the moment in all honesty more appealing.

And im glad there is competition or else we would have one console maker doing a "telkom" on us.

Good point that I wish would sink into every "fanbois" head! Let us imagine for a minute that there was no XBox 360 and no Wii. How much would you be paying for a PS3 console and how much would you be paying for the games?

That is why I am glad that the PS3 is experiencing something of a renaissance - that way MS is kept on its toes. God forbid Sony goes under and all we have to look forward to is a XBox dominated next-gen market.

Now who wins in the end? Us, the gamers.
