E36 BMW - Why "dolphin shape"

Heres' one for you, why is the E46 known as the G-String shape in some parts of SA?

The M3 is a four pipe. He's talking about the E46 range. From what I heard it's got to do with the tail lights. Kinda makes the boot look like a G-String. Something to that effect.

I've also heard in the loxion people refer to one or the other BMW (I think its a 5 or 7 series) as an anaconda

i alwys wondered abouth this as well - is it a cape thing - seems south african only.

i suspect it happened after bmw launched the colour "dolphin grey" for that model car
