I tried to search for this but it seems none of the posts mentions 64bit.

I got the E367 modem from 8TA with a prepaid SIM. The install on Win7 64bit worked without errors and modem connects with a 97% signal strength, but my data throughput is pathetic. (less than 40 or 50 bits per second.) My Cell C modem gets more than 3MB ps so there is nothing wrong with my PC.

Tried the same 8TA modem on my 32bit win XP and it seems better but still not as good as the Cell C.

Under "About" it shows all the modem files are version 1.01 but the update function says that is the latest.

Did anybody else get this modem to work on Win7 64bit? Or is there a special 64bit program?

Sounds like there is nothing wrong with the modem or Windows 7 64-bit. Try the 8.ta SIM in the Cell-C modem and vice-versa.

Thanks for the reply.

Tried swopping the 8.ta and Cell-C simms. They both work but with the same problem as previously mentioned with the 8.ta connection program.

Windows also sees there is something wrong on the 8.ta network setup but cannot identify the fault. When diagnosing the 8.ta connection it says "Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding"

Does anybody have the 8.ta E367 modem working on Windows 7 64 bit?
(It seems to be working on my notebook with Windows XP 32bit with acceptable speed, but mot on the 64bit machine.)

E367 - 8Ta

Yea..no plain sailing on my side as well...win7 64.
After install I Could connect with 8ta software, but could not create a windows dial-up.
(windowZ didn't see my modem)

Eventually I flashed with newer firmware, and Downloaded 8ta software from their site http://www.8ta.com/downloads/ ( honestly didn't even look to see if it was a different version or not than on stick.

Restarted comp, modem installed fine.( no exclamations in my windows device manager)

My signal is pretty crappy RSSI = -93 to 97dbm - local ping 64ms --speed :downl 1 - 2 Mbps, Upload 1-2 Mbps.
Tried the Coffee tin antenna thingy RSSI -87 Downl = 5-6 Mbps Upload 2 Mbps.

so ja! PS.Using my 8ta for Gaming on PS3, got myself a netgear 3G router...What a pleasure! no mess no fuss!

Good Luck

Got it working at last (sort of)

First I downloaded and installed the latest firmware for the modem from blogspot (google huaweifirmware)
There are other drivers also but they did not work (Windows said not a valid driver)

Then Windows still gave the yellow triangle error in the "Network and sharing center". I discovered later that even with a correct setup Windows still shows the yellow triangle error until you connect to internet but the setup still did not connect properly to internet.

At last I changed the options in the 8.ta dashboard program from the original setting to RAS(modem). This changed theprofile from the original network to a normal dialup connection which you can see if you select "Change adapter settings" under the network and sharing centre.

I think that did the trick, previously it complained that it could not find the domain name server

Hope this helps some people
