E90 - Black internal screen.

Hi Guys,

My sister dropped her MTN issued Nokia E90 and now the internal screen is black. You can see a few of the "desktop" items at night when the lights are off but nothing during the day.

The phone isn't insured and so she needs someone to check it that won't charge an arm and a leg...

How can you not insure a R9000 phone?

That is complete madness.
 
ouch! Been there too, damaged my beloved P910i (slammed in the car door :( )
The dude at Nashua Mobile West Rand, here near Northgate, would have repaired for 'lower' cost, use another dead phone for transplant op, but unfortunately the damage was right thru screen all the way to the phone's circuit board, so no luck.
But perhaps u can try them?
Me got Tytn2 now, taking eeextra special care not to f it up too...
 
LCD screen dead? Ebay is your next best friend . . .
A Friend of mine also dropped his phone, V360 or something, MTN charged him +-R1000 to repair the screen - He got one from ebay at sub-R300. Installed the new screen himself. Good as new!

Isn't that phone still under warranty? They'll have to prove that the dead screen was caused by dropping it (which you obviously won't tell them), which is hard to do.

Try that, you've got nothing to lose. :rolleyes:
