Early Upgrade

Hi,
Does anyone know the rules for early upgrades? My wife's contract is due for upgrade round 6 Jun (21 months) this year so want to upgrade a bit more than month and a half earlier. Her Galaxy S2 is on its way out from being dropped once to many, combined with being chewed by kiddies.
Tried to phone VC but that was as good as asking a rock.
