Earning money from home for simple admin tasks

Is anyone currently earning some decent money from doing simple data capturing and Excel tasks from home?

I do work on Freelancer.com. I earn about 20k or more per month on it. Also do some foreign language marketing for companies locally and abroad. Another 10-15k

What do you do on freelancer, it seems to be a race to the bottom competing with the 1$ Indian who doesn't value his time one bit.

Don't be scared to get out there and earn some cash in SA. The job market seems to be tough atm but with decent MS software skills coupled with a good human nature you should get some money from companies that likes to outsource some work to individuals with their own resources. If you can design a website or even just use skills to promote a business it would be enough.

I build data security and encryption algorithm in some of the online applications to guard against malware and Trojans. Also do deep data mining.

So not really plain excel work. That would simply be too easy and anyone can do that.

In a case like that and if you're not skilled try to setup a home marketing company. You can do online support or cold calling. And use Skype for your calls.

Don't laugh or fall of your chair. But Skype offers unlimited cellphone and landline calls in South Africa for just $20 usd. Let's not advise the ripoff Vodacom about this nor MTN.

And then just get a decent headset and line speed. Or well use an LTE connection.

Pretty interesting the first bit yea guess the 1 dollar an hour leeches won't be competing there hehe.
Second bit, wow I did not know it was that cheap, granted I don't use Skype I find it terrible infested with ads and its k@k slow and limited compared to discord.

However I was not aware of those cheap call rates.... How does Skype compare to VOIP solutions for a company especially one with 16 support staff currently using Telkom's hunting facility

My wife does. She does admin for a local non profit user group. Earns per hour for doing admin for them, mostly PA/organisational stuff but sometimes also shopping etc to get speaker gifts and what not. Not huge money and varies depending on what events are on for the month but good earnings working from home on a part time/choose your own hours arrangement.
