Earphone advice

My Sennheiser cx300-ii died after about 6 years and I'm on the lookout for some new ones, possible even another pair of cx300s. Wondering what you guys would recommend for my budget of between R500-1000 (Definitely want to stick to the lower end of that scale).

I got myself a pair of AKG K374's love them.

I also have a pair of Sennheiser's but these are more classy.

6 years? Were they not perhaps CX-300s? In which case go for CX-300 IIs. Why change unless upgrading? Feeling adventurous at the risk of forgoing what you've enjoyed for 6 years?
