If you know the name of the worm - try going to the symantec site and download the worm fix tool for the specific worm. Start your PC in safe mode and run the tool.

I suggest you then backup all your data and format if the damage was substantial.

The thing is the worm changes names,i think. Its hard to track this thing down.Maybe a mydoom.By the way i did try the worm removal tools a couple of days ago,but to no avail.Might be a hardware conflick mixed with a hijacker

do a re-install from scratch
and swear the stoopid bee-atch
dat made the sh!tty worm
dat's makin' you **** an' squirm
if you wants a real good feex

dablakmark8, you'll maybe want to get something like this for future use :

http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_bart_cd.html

I'm thinking of getting it myself, or maybe 'cos I don't want to spend the cash, manually create it :-

http://www.nu2.nu/bootdisk/cdrom/

What is it ?
A boot CD that uses a minimal GUI using some windows components that you can load up with all sorts of utilities, like anti-virus and anti-spyware software.

I've got a basic one I created a while back and I've used it to save quite a few people the pain of re-installing.

Get Nod32 to clean viruses, get adaware to clean adware, use msconfig (start->run->msconfig) to clean startup.
problem sorted
