Hi guys is there anyone who could help me out here? I would like to access a pc remotely from any location what is the easiest way with less complications.

Your help will be much appreciated

www.logmein.com

uses port 443 (ssl-based) for remote desktops, which in fact, passes through 99% of any firewall, like websites on port 80 does :)

use the freeware / demo version, i use it all the time to connect to clients :)

Thanks will try it out. You think it will work if i want to use it to view my Dvr system??

Dam the site is blocked by our proxy in Chicago lol.

Anyway does this logmein require client and server side config??

Or does it just access any PC remotely and unknowingly?? Is that even possible btw??

I would also suggest logmein. I don't use it alot, but when I do it just works (and well).

windows xp has a good RD application built in to the OS all that is needed is to enable it and do a port forward on your router using port 3389 and create an account and your all done.

I used all kinds of Remote Desktop App's, but reverted back to MS Remote Desktop. It works pretty well. We are running a domain setup so user accounts is no problem.

AVG started to delete my RADMIN files.

If its on a LAN I found GenControl to be very quick and easy provided you have no firewall blocking it on the other PC. It requires no installation anywhere...its just an exe file that loads a vnc server automatically on the target PC and you as the client have access provided you are a domain admin. It then deletes said vnc files when you close the connection, I watched it do that.

I don't know how secure it is though :/ probably not very secure at all.
