Two policemen were arrested in Elsburg, Germiston, on Wednesday for hijacking a truck and stealing alcoholic beverages worth R2 million, the Hawks said.

Captain Paul Ramaloko said a warrant officer and a constable stopped a truck on the N3 highway on November 1.

The driver and his crew where detained at a police station while the policemen drove the truck to an undisclosed place and offloaded the liquor.

They released the driver and his crew without formally charging them.

"They have been charged with truck hijacking. There is a possibility that a charge of theft can be added," Ramaloko said

He said liquor worth R100,000 had been recovered.

The policemen were expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

Hope they rot in jail.
It's time the wannabe-corrupt cops learnt that it's best to stay on the right path.

There was an armed robbery in Bryanston a few weeks back, we just got a report the suspects have been arrested.

ALL SAPS MEMBERS !!!
**** you ANC for causing this chaos

cANCer is fking this country to shyt.
Any bad cop should get twice the normal sentence and that goes for civil servants as well.

Couldn't agree more.

Only way to sort it out is that any cop who is arrested and founf guilty its an automatic life sentence. And I don't mean this 15 years rubbish, I mean a real life sentence.

Same for any public servant, elected or just employed. Any corruption o related activities = life in jail.

Maybe we should bid for the tender process to construct all the extra prisons then :p

Because of the fact that they work directly for the state, theft etc should be treason in my eyes and like you said - a full life sentence!

Ummm i highly doubt the ANC would make a law that would most likely put each and every one of them in jail for life!

You are right this is disgraceful, but criminal behavior by South African cops was there even before the ANC took over.

To redeem yourself from lying give me links to information where cops committed armed robbery in history past before the ANC appointed defacto terrorists, thieves and criminal gang leaders in the SAPS. (Mostly ex MK criminals)

What rubbish, its never been like this.
This is a product of the ANC
Obviously there was some incidents but never like this on a bloody daily basis
It was actually worse. Murder, torture, detention without trial, and harassment was the order of the day.

Yeah right, how many people were murdered by SAPS during apartheid?
How many people have been killed by SAPS members since ANC rule?
In those days a small percentage of the population lived in fear, now the majority does.
