Heading to the EC around easter period, my brother is graduating in Grahamstown on the 21st April. Decided to drive from JHB as there will be 3 of us and the costs didn't justify flying (would have had to rent a car in PE) So the plan is to sleep over at Gariep Dam on the 15th then start out the following day and head for PE. Looked at Google Maps and the 2 routes we have are:
Last drove that Cradock route possibly 10years ago and am not sure about the status of those roads - has anyone done that drive recently? Anything to look out for on either of these routes?
- R390 and N10 through Cradock - shorter and quicker through some back roads
- N9 and R75 through Middleburg - slightly longer but more national roads
