Eastern Cape gets another name change

Wow. Are there actual people working somewhere getting paid to change these names in boardrooms, ordering kfc and McD's for a brainstorming session? I have been desperately trying to get a hold of guavament employees at a department since last week , the phone is never answered, emails ignored.... but name changes is their thing , they seem to be doing a great job with this

The change, which has faced some controversy, was officially gazetted on Thursday (4 March) but is backdated to December 2020.
How do you backdate something like this? And why? So people cannot object?

“The South African Geographical Names Act provides for objections within 30 days from members of the public in instances that they are not happy with the gazette name changes,” he said.
I've already lodged complaints about PE and Uitenhage.

Nice glorifying people who once stated ""With our boxes of matches and our necklaces we shall liberate this country."

When does Malema get his Municipality?

I still wonder how name changes improve our economic status in any way ?

Mbizana Local Municipality is a local municipality in Alfred Nzo District Municipality in the Wild Coast Region of the Eastern Cape Province in South Africa.

Its name means "little casserole" or "sauce pan" in isiXhosa.

They can do as they wish.... change as many times as you want. No problems.

Why bother, the EC is a shithole. Would've been better to rather try and uplift it. Create jobs, better education and so forth.

They love renaming things after sadistic killers ...... Andrew Zondo caused a fuss and nothing happened iirc so why would anything ever change with this naming EC after their favorite murderous bitch. Lay complaints as much as you like, not gonna have any impact *shrug*
