People, most of you miss the point of what this unit will investigate 99% of the time. You only see that one percent WTF Interestingly enough the police had such a unit but has been disbanded because of the indigenous law been accepted more within the South African law. The actions of this special unit could have been interpreted as racist. Is funny to see how the new South Africa turns more and more into the old. The police have already gone back to the old ranking system. Furthermore, apparently there are now too many provinces in SA

Our constitution allows for people to practise their religion without discrimination. Satanism is a religion, just as whatever it is the black people believe in with their Sangomas is! Granted, some of the effed up things people do in the name of 'religion' are beyond our comprehension as thinking people, but it's still their religion.

Obviously our nation's laws supercede the actions of any religious sect, so it is wrong to take someone's life in pursuit of your religious beliefs.

That hasn't stopped all the 'muti' killings, so I guess it's time to start doing something about it - AGAIN!

Perhaps a tokolosh anti-rape team will be good. I wonder how many little girls get raped and its blamed on the tokolosh. At least with cops going to investigate theyll be able to show that the child was raped by a human and hopefully catch the perp.

Funnily enough I was good friends with the leader of a coven (he was from Gonubie) in East London, when I got out the army in 1990. They didn't bother me, I didn't bother them - each to his own.

I moved out of the house I shared when cops rocked up with shotguns and uzi's because they decided to have a band practice on Sunday, WHILE everyone was at church (next door to us). Everyone got taken away except me - I guess the blue-patterned duvet, bright curtains, and pictures of hot chicks on the wall must have given it away? They all had dark, scarey rooms.

One of their friends, who worked for my father at the time, chopped some homeless guy's head off in the graveyard - he got caught.

Not sure why this is a big deal. There are crimes motivated by certain cultural/spiritual practices. They require unique insight and expertise. Hence they have a task team. You wouldn't want a cop who's an expert at financial crime to handle house burglaries either.

I would agree, if it was something more realistic and sane than the "occult-related crime unit." Instead, it's something that perpetuates and raises belief in this nonsense.

Maybe it perpetutes such belief in people who view their government as a god. But that's an inevitable outcome of secularism.

It's just as guilty of furthering superstition as the superstitious nutjobs themselves.

Maybe you're projecting. I don't see any such. Try not to read things through own subjective biases.
