Easy Equities good or bad?

Also take care of the pricing - even thought there is warnings to the effect...:

it was asking me to buy at R45 a pop an hour ago verus the R35 current price. Even the phone desk confirmed that.

I always look at the your buying at.

I had a thread or something about it somewhere you have to be close awake !

I think EE buys the shares and hold them to resel sort of so you wont really be able to buy or sell at real trading prize.

Find out whether EE pads the spread or whether they quote the live BID/OFFER. I presume they support limit orders - i.e. you will only execute at the price you want or better, versus just market orders that trade at the best price at that point in time.

Many CFD platforms claim 'free trading costs' but they put a fat margin on the spread.

I checked the bid/offer prices reflected on the EE platform against the prices on the Standard Bank Online Share Trading platform and from what I can see EE correctly reflects the 15 minute delayed prices (with no added margins).

So glad we jumped on that Sasol train at 39K-40K since it is currently sitting at a pretty 47K and still climbing.

Was just about to post now I checked it was 9.4% on my sharenet app

Yeah, only thing is the trade is not actually executed on the JSE from what I've seen. And I do see trades as small as 1 share coming through on the FNB Securities platform.

Today as a test, I bought R200 worth of BBET40. According to their invoice, I paid 4951c per share, received 3.9992 shares.

I checked the trading volume and price on my FNB account now for BBET40, and there were no trades for that price today.

Impressed with how easy the FICA process was. Processing took 2 hours. Not bad for an online service IMO.

Mine was even faster at 33 minutes I remember because I called and the lady said " Sir it was done already and coming from PSG I was like Holy Dog nipples awesome! Thank you"

Hey, Just a quick question.

I have been reading up on justonelap.com ( Brilliant, Brilliant website guys ), Simon talks about his different portfolio's ie High divedent, Momentum and example core portfolio, but I just want to make sure I am understanding this correctly since we are using EasyEquities right all the shares gets placed in one big porfolio/account, so is it fine if I just but the shares for the different portfolios and keep them all on Easyequities and just remember which of them is part of which portfolio or is that the wrong way to do this portfolio thing?

Its possible on one Easyequities account, but difficult to manage the three different portfolio's.

one of my questions at the start of EE was if they could allow splitting the portfolio(i wanted to create accounts for two family members. One guys said they will look into it, but i guess that plans never materialized yet.

I asked them the same thing while we were still using play money.

They don't really respond or act on any suggestions it seems. Probably focusing on fixing a whole lot of fundamental issues.

...or they just don't care about users on their "cheap site" which they hope act as a feeder to gt247.

will take a look - seems like you found exactly what we need.

(note that you can email EE/ GT247 for a trade statement (just ask for the excel version), which will then hopefully make it easier to import multiple transactions.)

GT247 is pretty good. Used them back in the day.

GT247 is a company that stole money from their clients,
they were on carte blanche for it. FSB didnt even fine them.

Just saying....

Source? As I remember a different outcome and them still being in healthy business proves a point.

Well here's one source:
http://www.noseweek.co.za/article/3041/Global-Trader-more-lies-and-deception

Anderson’s last sentence, too, is intentionally misleading: there is no regulatory action in process against the company, true, but only because the FSB believes it has no legal jurisdiction to regulate the trade in CFDs – one of the main points made in the Noseweek report.

AND

The FSB’s onsite inspection was conducted on 13 October 2011 by Maloba and Horner. They made a follow-up visit on 18 January 2012. Based on their inspection, they identified the following shortcomings in GT’s systems:

♦ The audit trail that logs all transactions effected on behalf of clients was switched off from 5 August to 12 August 2011. It is recommended that audit trail logs are never switched off.

What company switches off audit trails, sounds fishy...

and them still being in healthy business proves a point.

maybe that just proves they getting away with it much longer?

Since they were suspected of doing it theyre profits have doubled in those years
That part of the business was going bankrupt before that
