Easy Equities good or bad?

Assume its a platform thing, same happens when selling. On my bank app they also have shares with much larger orders can be palced but guess I will need to check the fill prices.

Betting it’s a smaller lesser known share you are buying?

If you jump to Naspers or the mines and such you pretty much never see it happening.

Yeah it was with copper comapnies / etf. Remember I also had it with selling last year and half the companies where in the JSE Top 40.

Can anyone explain the following to me.

I made a few CHOPPIES orders last week, its still pending.

I can see trading on the shares live.

So why a week of pending (on EE) ?

I assume you did a limit order and the limit you set isn't being met. I've had to cancel and recreate orders when that happened to me.

Decided to go into ETFs for the first time because tax on fixed deposits are starting to become insane. So will hold them long term for the tax benefit. Will hold for 3+ years for 18% tax but will probably only actually start withdrawing when I retire in around 20 years.

I bought 1/3 each of MSCI World, Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 in early December. I'm down 5% already...

Tons of overlap here, but otherwise well done.

If it were me, I'd just go world and leave it at that.

Yeah they all kind of similar. Want to maybe diversify slightly as I invest more monthly in the future. Just this first amount was a bulk lump sum but will be buying more ETFs every month with around 70% of my salary. Thinking of some Tech or Mining ETFs. Not sure how those would play out over 20-30 years though. Or I could just stick with these or just MSCI World and keep adding to it.

What are you guys using as a baseline for planning your future on in terms of returns?

Inflation + 3%, 4%, 5%, more?

I got math on the low end for 3% and on the high end at 8% but over 30 to 40 years that can be a massive difference.

Inflation +3% would be roughly what you could get on a fixed deposit (pre tax). So that's bare minimum. I would hope for a 15% average annual return over 30 years. That's kind of what the global/world funds have achieved over the last 8-10 years. Think most are around 15%-20%. So that's like inflation +10%.

Sure, I guess I should add I am tracking in USD - so those very high returns would have an element of rand depreciation which is not valid when tracking in USD.

Well 2025 you earned negative on all your selected ETFs

Just always remember to diversify...

good grief!

how do you ever get support from EasyEquities???

sent them a transfer instruction on 16 January, something not supported in-app, this is done via email
no automated acknowledgement email back even, no response whatsoever 10 days later

I try their support channels to follow-up, no human whatsoever, the chatbot just says send another email (yeah cause the first one worked so well) and when it offers you to chat to a human being guess what happens?

it logs another f-ing support ticket, I already have two of those as well, nobody responds, nobody contacts me and there is seemingly no way to contact a human at EasyEquities ... wtf?
