Easy Equities good or bad?

Yeah, I bought some PPE with the R50. Won't buy more though:

I know past history isn't the best indicator, but they seem pretty flat for the last couple of years.

EDIT: I lie! Over the last year they are up 58%, 18% since EE was announced in July (I think)

My transfer completed from ETFSA two days ago. I forgot to update the thread. Only problem i have is they allocated the cost as zero so my profit an loss figure is out! (i do track this separately but would be nice if it was correct). I have emailed them to see if they can fix this...

I wish they would display the percentage growth/loss nd not just the money value.

And it is very awkward logging into the site in work hours and having your portfolio value shown in massive letters on the screen. I've sent them a suggestion to give us an option to show a smaller version of that bar but nothing yet.

I'll do the same. I Agree.

Awkward ?

Depends what the number is :D

Don't mean to derail the thread, I just have a noob question as a first time investor on EE.

How is dividend payment calculated - Example CML declares a dividend of 416c and I have held 400 shares 3 weeks prior to their LTD(Last Trading Day)?

Same thing happened when I recently transfer shares from the satrix platform to my broken, sending them a statement of the shares showing the cost helped, they then correctly display the cost.

Okay, so if I tell them what they cost me they will update it?

Simple terms, is you must hold the shares before the last day when u are edligable to receive dividend. Then it's just number of shares x dividend per share (416c).

Nice, gald to see they came through with the R50. Would be interested to see how many people is using EE by now.
I took the plunge. Very easy interface and no hassles administration. Let us see how far it goes.

Have done the same. Additionally, I have requested a personalized wish list as well. #tags are fine but those are available to all users. My tags doesn't seem to work fine as anything I add is still available when I log out of the site. Anyone has had different experience?

i am definitely enjoying my Easyequities experience.

Something i started this week, after i realized that percentaged based fee's is really just that PERCENTAGE BASED :D - i started building my own "satrix" like portfolio, eg - selected 25 shares i prefer, and split my holdings equally into the 25.

no yearly fee, and i have more control on what happens.

really think this platform is a winner!

hmmm on that note.
does anyone know of a easy way to find JSE shares that is listed for over 10 years, and performing the best?

Somebody asked that same question on Shareforum.co.za the other day (not you is it?) and somebody worked it out for him I think.

has any of the guys that moved to EE checked to see if the shares are held/registered with the JSE like with the other brokers??

They are held by a ring fenced company in your name. It's probably the most (only?) alarming thing about the whole platform and something I wish they would change. Flip knows why they are doing it this way.

I saw that as well, but was wondering if anyone who has taken the plunge has maybe found a way to check further, to see if it is maybe operated like the other brokers. Not sure how you would check that, but its worth a shot, for peace of mind :)

Well, as per FAQs and moneyweb articles, it is a innovative trading platform where one can be a whole + fractional owner so it bound to be very strange considering this is not done before in SA (not sure about other countries). Also personally, I reckon there is certainly more risk than owning it outright the usual way but I invested in any case.
