Easy Equities suspended trading

It's not a scam. It's just a schit service if you're looking for a brokerage house...

well obv getting a good broker >
and it seems a lot of ppl think that easy equity is the be and all of platform but its a 'babies first trade' for most

Any recommendation for a relatively easy to use platform?
No! And I'd be a hypocrite if I recommended one in particular. No one brokerage is suitable for everyone and every wallet. Financial advice is a nuanced subject, and advice provided on this forum that I've read in my years is mostly horseschit and dangerous.

There are very few people left on this forum who I'd suggest listening to. And there are fewer who are capable of providing real, actionable, and intelligent advice. Most are banned for losing the plot with the morons. Others just don't bother any longer. This is not the place for this sort of discourse...

My post was hardly ambiguous...

Yet SO many people recommend it

I know i know, you mentioned morons using Mybb to give schitty financial advice.

Just wonder if one shouldn't treat the Lonmin issue as a rare event...
EE DOES make it easy for the average twat to "invest" on the JSE
Not so?

That is what I thought, but now I feel scammed.

I made it clear that it was meant as an easy entry point for noobs, not for serious investors. In this regard I believe they're useful, with some caveats. I've since requested that thread be deleted after today's stunt, as I will not be party to bullschit...

Dont think you needed to do that, as there was plenty of helpful advice for us "noobs". With all due respect to DJ, I think he stirred with a huge wooden spoon and made all us wannabees scared. I just need reassurance that I will get my money for the shares I bought. Simple.

Lol :D This has become f**king hilarious!! :D Leave your investments in Lonmin with EE. Maybe in 10 years time Lonmin would be one of the biggest mining companies around. As for EE, hopefully they will still be around. With your money.

One should treat this event as an eye opener. A "rare event" can make you destitute and there are very few "rare events" in the investment world. It's all happened before, and will continue happening. Buying Lonmin is a gamble, not an investment. Don't fool yourself into thinking otherwise. The rest of the financial markets (experienced) have moved on with their investment strategies. They haven't changed them to play in the gambling space. Inexperienced gamblers however have, and guys like EE earn a nice penny capturing the spread from you all, or possibly worse depending on how they respond next.

And stop calling this a rare event. Companies have fallen from equity market grace for ages, and companies have made a fortune from it for just as long. If a company can't handle it, it doesn't make it a rare, unforeseeable event. It makes them fscking useless at their job...

Nope I'm as noob as anybody here, but I will not promote a company that pulls k4k like this. Sometimes you have to man up and say you fscked up...

Bulls**t! Everyone here thought there was a 'GET RICH QUICK' way out of this. Everyone wanted to do this as cheap as possible, unfortunately on the wrong platform not meant for it. Everyone got burnt. But, hey, you all still have your shares. Just leave it, perhaps it will grow :D

Not sure why you wouldn't. Nor where I've implied you wouldn't. I'm talking about this crap they delivered today and the excuses provided. And highlighting that this is a pathetic forum from which to receive financial advice. As it is, poor sods are admittedly listening to you lot and gambling their money having read your posts. Nobody has a fscking clue what they're talking about.

Despicable if you ask me. But that's just me. I've seen the upside and downside, and owned my own financial companies in various industries. Even if you think you're not providing advice, you're publicly punting something and people just see $ signs...

It's noobs advising noobs about stuff they know nothing about. Serious investors would already know better. Noobs wouldn't. Look at marco who used to chuck in a bit of jargon and people believed he knew what he was talking about. Dipschit convinced people that past performance dictates future performance, as an investment rule.

Took ages convincing people he was full of schit. Why should others be obligated to continue doing this? It should simply not be allowed on this forum...
