i'm just wondering about sa users of easynews.com

how much have you downloaded from them?

hope ur not an easynews junkie like me! i'm giving easynews money rather than giving it the very friendly nigerians on every street corner in town :-)

please dont ask me what i've downloaded and i wont tell you any lies - only shareware, royalty free mp3's and absolutely NO porn... i promise :-)

my easynews.com stats, please post yours:

i should finish the 30gigs by the 17th, been with them a while so i'll be getting at least a 2gig bonus every month, cant wait. 22gigs @ $10 a month is a bargain, i dont waste my time with the IS news server, its slow and there is no http interface. with easynews i zip what i want in a 2 gig file and run my download manager with 16 threads, if it bombs, i restart - works like a dream

if only a few south african companies could learn from them: 1) provide a quality service, at a realistic price and 2) SUPPORT the service you offer - 24/7

adsl packages - 50gig limit @ R299/month OR unlimited adsl @399.00/month is realistic and maybe a dream that will never come true. maybe i'll win the lotto before those type of prices hit sa. thats my 2cents worth.

mmmm, please remember, i dont have a cap to worry about and then to be reduced to under 500kB/s local only, its INTERNATIONAL - NOT local

as per your suggestion, i'll have a good look at the is news server, its just past experience has made me a bit hesitant of the speeds I get from them.

last time I logged onto the is news server was maybe 18+ months ago, so I may be speaking out of turn. if I am, i’ll apologise to all is news server users and be the first to admit it.

THEN i'll use the is server as much as you guys do.

easynew rocks! When i was in the UK I used my friends broadband and downloaded 450GB via easynews in 2 weeks!! (No complaints from his ISP either ;)

cool, they do rock. i was in new zealand for 3 months, used a 8MB connection - i downloaded my socks off, no drinking or women for me, just easynews. my friend averaged over 200 gigs a month and he got wireless access plus free local phone calls in the bundle.

damn, i filled way too many dl dvd's, had to post em back, i did pgp encrypt them though, but what gets to me is, why cant we have an easynews in SA, IS can make a ton of cash if they offered http access. nntp is fine, but http access is much better. is, get http access asap - PLEASE.

not going to happen :( its would be way too expensive here. Bandwidth and storage is just so damn cheap overseas. I mean the company I do web hosting through are offering 300GB storage and 3000GB transfer a month for LOT cheaper that anywhere here in SA - its crazy!

Can you give us details about who you use for Sat provider, price etc?
