Basically in line with what Tim Noakes preaches but I thought I just had to point out another recent world wide backup of some of his claims. (An article even appeared in the Time Magazine last week).

In short:
Butter = Saturated fats = Large or "fluffy" LDL cholesterol = none to benign plaque buildup in arteries.
Margarine and other vegetable oils = Trans fars = small but dense LDL cholesterol = increases plaque buildup in arteries.

Now if only the price of butter in SA could come down...

To all the diet experts out there: what is canola oil and margarine classified as? Trans fats?

Butter is godly. I only use butter for everything. Margarine tastes like yellow phlegm to me when I tried it after some years.

Canola oil is apparently not so great despite all the health notices in this country.

Bullet Proof Coffee is how I get 10-30g of butter in me every day. And I get some nice MCT oils and omega 3s (use Grassfed butter, none of this korn fed **** which has trace amounts of omega 3s)

I love me some real butter. I wish Discovery Vitality would add it to their healthy foods instead of margarine!

And from this graph it would seem that Olive oil is also a no-no? I always thought olive oil is healthy?

Avo oil is better than olive oil when heated. Avo oil reacts better to the heat. And it is tasteless, meaning even people who do not like avo won't mind it.

Kerrygold is so expensive though :(

The way I see it, instead of buying milk I am buying slightly more expensive butter. I can get away with not having milk since I don't have cereal for breakfast nor do I drink tea.

Also normal butter is incredibly sparse with omegas, grass fed butter has more utility in that regard. I hate using the word medicinal but what else can I say, if you are a bodybuilder or a sportsman and want to reduce inflammation it's the way forward
