On one of Garyvdh's posts he had a link to this small app called eboostr.

I downloaded it and tried it on one of my work PC's - from what I am seeing it has made a big difference. If you have ram < 512 ... give it a try. (Reviews of it say that it does not make much diff on systems with lots of RAM.

I am using a company issued Kingston 2GB High Speed Datatraveller Flash Drive.

It woulds similarly to Vista's Readyboost and superfetch ... but for XP.
 
This one pc runs 512MB of Ram. It is used for students who come work here temporarily.

Load times of outlook, excel, word is perceivably faster. Swithcing between apps better - especially since we normally have SAP, Outlook, and WOrd, Excel and Access open at the same time.
 
i've tried it myself and can say that it helps on notebook/pc with not so much memory, has to be usb2...
 
USB2... for sure. USB1.0/1 would be pretty bad... even slower than the normal swap file. I find readyboost on Vista is pretty cool, so readyboostXP sounds cool too
