ebucks at Makro

We make it a point of going to Makro Centurion for most of our groceries once a month to add up our ebucks balance. Noticed that some months we don't get any ebucks so my wife called and queried.
I remember (maybe wrongly) that we used to get 1% of purchases, now it seems that we get only 0.75% BUT, groceries and cellular don't accumulate ebucks.

What's the bloody point then ?

That sounds weird because the eBucks should just be on the final total that is swiped on your card and not broken down by item type. I hope that really isn't the case, I have never checked.

It's a long read but the way we earn eBucks changed a little while back.

Earn eBucks

Like Platinum can earn up to 2.5% if they use a whole bunch of services. You also get eBucks from 'Fuel Rewards'.

I get ebucks at Dischem for toiletries and medications, why not also for food items then? Slightly odd.

It has always been that way as far as I know, you can't earn on food. Have a look below Ebucks.com

That presumably only applies to the additional eBucks from Makro, not what you get using an FNB card.

Well, they swiped my eBucks card at Makro yesterday when I bought gardening stuff, and there didn't seem to be an issue. I'm not an FNB client either, so will see if they add it to my account.
