EC man arrested for murdering intruder

A man who seemingly tried to fight off an intruder faces a murder charge for allegedly killing the man.

The incident occurred in Kirkwood this weekend.

Police say the home owner was asleep when a man gained entry into his home through a window.

A fight broke out between the two men in which the intruder was seriously injured and later died in hospital.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Majola Nkohli said: “The police are following due processes to inform his family relatives in Malawi. A 45-year-old suspect was arrested and is due to appear in court on Monday on charges of murder.”
 
Good for him. Let him rot in jail for killing the poor foreigner just like that
 
On the face of it this seems outrageous. All I can think is that the police believe the perp was incapacitated and was then beaten to near death.

This doesn't make sense. They won't arrest you if it is was self defense, defenitly a break in and on your property. Poor reporting again. Yes, there will be a court appearance etc. etc. So something else going on here.

Wtf, they are quick to arrest law abiding citizens but slow to sort real criminals out. Scum, the whole lot of them. Once you break into a house you should lose every single right that you have and both you and your scum family benefitting from your crimes deserves execution.

Technically I don't think it is wrong as a murder still happened and a break in still has to be proved. BUT in SA context, the professionalism of the police, the condition of the holding facilities and the corruption in the legal system.... It is not good.

No that's why we are law abiding citizens, we do not lower ourselves to such standards.

True we are soft on crime, but we are not savages that call for the execution of innocent bystanders make you no different than the criminals you dispise

They are not so innocent if they knowingly benefit from the crime.

It's what sets us apart from the criminals our respect for rights and the rule of law, don't like it scrap it make it a free for all.
