CAPE TOWN – A traditional gathering turned deadly when a man who was busy slaughtering a cow was struck dead by lightning.
The incident happened in a village just outside Mthatha in the Eastern Cape yesterday.
Three men have also been hospitalised, while several community members escaped unharmed.
Provincial health spokesperson Sizwe Kupelo said, “Community members were struck by lightning while slaughtering a cow. One of the men died instantly and three others were rushed to hospital, they remain in a stable condition.”
