I'm in need of the most economical printer out there.

Features that I'm interested in is the ability to print to CD.

I have an Epson R300 and it is a great printer, but it is far from economical. It's over R700-00 a pop for the ink and it does not last as long.

In the past you could get a cheap Cannon an refill the cartridges yourself. I know you void any warranty and that little gnomes die in their dozens because of this, but I need a cheap solution here.

To refill the Epson you need a chip resetter and whatnot, I highly doubt one will find this in SA.

What would you people suggest?

I don't think there is such a think as a economical printer anymore. They are all out to buttrape you without vaseline.

HP Deskjet D1560. I got myself one on recommendation from a guy running a cartridge refill business and I must say it's working out okay (R380 to replace black and colour - non-HP cartriges though).

You must work the other way round
Find a Continious ink system supplier, Inkjet, and then check the compatibility of the printers in his list. Then get the printer!
