Edcon Store Cards (Monthly Fee Applicable Now)

Overheard a lady in edgars last week cancelling her account.
 
They asked me last week to sign to accept the monthly charges. On that little Waco signing pad, it gives the options of Accept or Reject. So I rejected the monthly charge and then carried on using my card as normal.
If they charge me, I will challenge them to show me the proof that I accepted the charges

Yeah, I should have said an extra R22 per month. I already pay for the lifestyle stuff, so this little extra will bring my monthly costs up to R66 or so per month.

It basically means I add about R300 to my end of year flight home, which is fine for the security of being able to hope on a plane at short notice with 6 months interest free, which my credit card doesn't offer.

6 months interest is no longer applicable to the card anymore
 
Paid up and cancelled mine when I received email.

Their interest rate is already crazy and now they are looking for ways to maximize their profit. NCR gave them another way.
 
you have to go in and accept the t&c's i think. gonna pay my account and just utilize the benefits.
 
I closed down my account just now. When I called Edcon they asked whether I still want to be billed the monthly fee. This request would then be sent to ABSA pending a decision. Quite frankly I don't have the time and patience to wait for that and rather go with my instincts and close my account.

After you watch 2 movies a month (which I do), it pays for itself. And I go with at least one friend so it pays for itself after only one movie (2 tickets per show on the Edgars Lifestyle discount).

So this is optional?
 
I tried to buy there today, but they said the account would be locked until I accepted the new charges. So I closed it.
