Edcon is the edgars cellular section.

So i just bought the Nokia 5230 at edgars(only shop that had it) and i bought it on the mtn network - only network offered, and i want to use my vodacom sim card in it.

Only problem is the conditions of sale that i received with the phone is that is states:

"Edcon only offers the warranty covered by the service provider. In the even of your handset being multi network and you use any network other than the one purchased, the warrany offered by the service provider is automatically voided."

How should i read this?

And if it does void my warranty would i still be able to use the nokia 2 year warranty by taking it to vodacom or mtn?

Or does it use similar conditions to vodacom that u must use the sim within 3 months before u bring it in?

Any help greatly appreciated.

I think the sp's have that condition because they usually carry the warranty for the second year, the first year been covered by the manufacturer. Nokia have a two year manufacturer warranty, so you should be covered even if you use a different nework.

The best is to phone Nokia directly and get clarification.

BTW what's the price for the 5230?

Is there a sa branch for nokia?

R1900 - really good fone, better than the 5530, and just under the 5800, and i was surprised, despite gsmarena stating otherwise, that the phone did come with a stylus, as well as hand writing recognition, and a 2gb memory card. But still doesn't come with a data cable.
