Edenvale Exchange Issues Again!

The Edenvale exchange i think is completely messed up nothing works latency is over 100ms 24/7. Its slow no matter what isp you use. My sync goes from 4meg to 3meg to 1meg to 384 to 2meg all the speeds possible except stable my line is now syncing at 504Kbps :( And the annoying thing is there is MSANS everywhere and they just wont move us over so we can get stable lines i don't understand what telkom is taking there time with, all the MSANS are on when i walk past them. To make things worse the Telkom call centre tells me VDSL is not a telkom product yet its still in its trail phase REALLY TELKOM REALLY!!!!

Im just so sick of Telkoms pathetic service and i know several million of you are also.

We are standing together to fight etolls lets stand together and fight telscum.
 
I've not had a Telephone/ADSL line since the 3rd of January.... Originally they said it was an area fault, then they said they were upgrading the exchange to the new MSAN to allow VSDL. Then they said the fault was resolved, and I tested it wasn't. Phoned them, and they phoned my line, which amazingly caused my phone to ring, but then it was so crackly I couldn't hear them, to which they replied was my POTS filter/ modem causing the noise. Even after I unplugged everything except the phone, they still didn't believe me, but they did log ANOTHER call.

Now I'm patiently waiting (NOT), for them to send a technician to investigate.

I feel your pain. I was in the same boat as you last year as my line did the exact same things, they managed to fix it around November it worked well till last week Wednesday then it went to crap. I am also now awaiting a technician to be dispatched to get my line to sync at the full profile again.
 
So phoned them again, and it turns out the fault was a result of a municipal contractor damaging one of their data lines.... blah blah blah... Yet another new story...

May fault has been escalated again... will wait and see.

Spoke to Afrihost who manages my line and they said a technician will come out tomorrow lets wait and see:whistle:

Even when i trace route it shows the edenvale exchange 453/454 is congested AGAIN!

nearly 4 weeks, and still no line... Even though I've escalated the problem, they're still waiting for a technician to attend to the problem.

Guess I'll have to fork out more money for 3G in the mean time.... :cry: :cry: :cry:
Just a real pity no other Cell provider has as good an offer as 8ta... (25GB for R999)

Got moved to an msan today so I can now achieve upto 40meg even tho I cant afford it lol but my crappy line is now awesome. Just bug telkom to move you to an msan :)
 
Well, Telkom came and fixed my line - it was a problem with the cable from their pole to my house. So YAY! Full 10MB line again...

Ofcourse there is a dark lining to this cloud. My gate has a beam/brace across the top of the gate, and bolted onto the gate posts. This technician didn't look to see that his van could get under it, so now I have a buckled beam, and a gate that won't close. He claimed it was like that before he got there... strange how I didn't have a problem closing my gate in the morning before he got there....
