EDGE and VPN

i believe vodacom has a helpdesk and your are able to get vpn access went thru the steps with friendly conslutant was dam easy.. :D
 
SWF007 I do already have 2 of my vodacom simcards setup to use the Vodacom VPN APN (internetvpn) and you are right, they really do provide a very nice service.
However since MTN launced it's EDGE I would like the same feature on their network. Does such a solution exist? i mean another APN other than "MyMTN"? I know you can request to have your own APN setup with their Business Solution department. However it is not a feasable option. I'm looking for an APN to facilitate a VPN connection.
 
Whilst trying to get a Jave IRC client working on my phone, I came across this list of APNs.

You'll notice that they list MTN on there as "internet".

Anyway, I have no idea what we're talking about here, so I'll leave it at that. :o
 
MTN data helpdesk

Retnox}Ok... How would i go about requesting access to a VPN enabled APN? So far everyone I spoke to has no idea what i'm talking about. Does MTN even have something like a Data helpdesk?[/COLOR said:
The MTN data helpdesk for contract subscribers is on short dial 16200 from an MTN phone. This is also the corporate helpdesk but they will be your interface towards the data consultants.

Prepaid customers should call 173 and ask for the advanced helpdesk.
